Nosara_Surf

Nosara is located on the North Pacific Coast of the Nicoya Peninsula in Guanacaste about 100 miles west of the capital, San José. It is a multicultural town that fights for a sustainable tourism growth.


You will find: friendly and English speaking people (most of the time), unpaved roads, beaches, a wellness community, a lot of yoga studios, adventure and excellent restaurants. Mountains, forest lands, farmers, artists, shops, howler monkeys, turtles, birds… you will be surrounded by our beautiful nature.


These are some of the beaches you have to visit:

  • Guiones Beach: perfect for surfers! Guiones is a worldwide surfing destination.
  • Pelada Beach: if you crave for having a refreshing drink on the beach with your feet on the sand, going for a walk while enjoying the magnificent sunset or having a ride on your bike, Pelada Beach will be your ideal spot.
  • Ostional Beach: this is the place if you want to see turtles. It is a national wildlife refuge.
  • Garza Beach: recognized for sport fishing.

The closest international airport is in Liberia (2.5 hour drive). Nosara has a small airport if you want to flight from Liberia/San José to Nosara. The drive from San José takes almost 6 hours depending on the traffic. Getting around Nosara is commonly done by taking a Tuk-Tuk (taxis), renting a car (a four-wheel drive vehicle particularly during the rainy season)/bike/ATV/golf cart or walking.


The life in Guanacaste is slow paced. You will experience life quality here. There are plenty of activities to meet everyone's expectations.
